Madonna

~ Release by Madonna (see all versions of this release, 39 available)

Annotation

This was Madonna's first album, and was dedicated to her father. Originally to be named 'Lucky Star' it later became self-titled 'Madonna' for its official worldwide release on July 27th, 1983. It was, however, released in South Africa as 'Lucky Star' with different artwork, and a 3.41 version of 'Burning Up'.

In September 1985, the album was repackaged outside the US, using different cover art and re-titled The First Album, but with (by and large) the same catalogue numbers.

In 2001 the album was remastered with improved sound and bonus remixes of 'Burning Up' & 'Lucky Star' while retaining the original art work & title.
