Pozytywne Wibracje (Polish series (Stanisław Trzciński))

Positive Vibrations presents music genres related to acid jazz, contemporary jazz, smooth jazz, funk, funky, soul, Latino, bossa, disco, fusion, chill-out, avant-garde pop, cool-pop, broadly understood new dance rhythms. These are often different, modern music genres, often derived from the great masters and roots of r&b, funk and jazz, and listened to by young music connoisseurs, open-minded people who actively participate in club events.

It was spring 1997. I had been working at PolyGram Polska for three years. I was going through difficult times. Although I willingly participated in the creation of many musical projects, I was unable to use my own musical inspirations in the implementation of most of them. That was the first time I thought about using my potential, the potential of my collaborators and the promotional machine of the phonographic industry to a greater extent, to fight for the musical development of the Polish listener. Also in my own interest. So that it would be possible to create more interesting projects in the future.

Let's recall the situation on the Polish market seven years ago. There was no chance at all to find soul, chill-out, acid jazz and generally groovy & jazz music in Polish stores and media. There was even a lack of good music from the seventies. In the beginning there was the Filtry club and the most important breakthrough in my musical vision of the world. And later there appeared a basement opposite the Drink Bar on Wspólna Street in Warsaw: the Indigo store. There Karol Growiński and Bogusz Bilewski Jr played chess every evening and played (sold) good music to all of their friends. It didn't last long, but it was you gentlemen who instilled these rhythms in me. Since then, I have seriously started to complete my record collection.

We made our debut at the end of 1997. The photo on the first cover was taken by Jacek Poremba. My employer at the time, Andrzej Puczyński, allowed me to be extravagant and under the name Pozytywne Wibracje we launched our series, which has the honour of presenting itself to you today in the form of this anthology. By the way, it is interesting that many European series, so snobbish and popular today, were created a few years after us. We did not copy any patterns.

The idea was this. To present "more difficult", more ambitious musical genres. We started with acid jazz. But it quickly turned out that by accident I had created an original mix that could not be pigeonholed. And you wanted a continuation of "that something". I remember that I read the first reviews with joy. The next ones with even greater pride and surprise. Their tone and message have not changed to this day. It turned out that the intricate construction of each record "paid off". Flavors, inventions, original performances and a quite diverse repertoire that fit together found many recipients. I also liked to invent and co-create graphic design, organize concerts, look for partners and sponsors, negotiate media barters. I relaxed while doing so. This is how a new series was born on the Polish market.
